A Shabbat of Unity - in memory of Rabbi Dovid Kaminetsky z"l

As the first yahrzeit of Rabbi Kaminetsky z"l approaches, all of the local teen minyanim will be joining forces to have a collective minyan, in our social hall, on the Shabbat of June 1st, Parshat Bechukotai. As you know, Rabbi Kaminetsky z"l founded the community's first teen minyan in Bnai Yeshurun. Through his unique dignity and grace, he led the minyan for over 20 years, thus inspiring many other shuls to follow his model and form their own teen minyanim. He taught the teens to become shlichei tzibbur and baalei keriah, and delivered weekly divrei Torah that were specifically crafted to reach his precious audience.
The teen minyanim of Beth Abraham, Keter Torah, Rinat Yisrael, and Ohr Hatorah will be joining us that Shabbat, to honor Rabbi Kaminetsky's legacy. Rabbi Kaminetsky's sons, Rabbi Yisroel and Daniel, will deliver the derasha that morning and lead us in Tefila.
Leading up to this beautiful Shabbat, we are undertaking a learning initiative to study the entire Chumash with Rashi. Teens, alumni of the minyan, and the entire community are invited to participate and study the parsha of their choice with Rashi. It would be especially fitting if individuals would choose to learn their bar mitzvah parsha, as Rabbi Kaminetsky had an uncanny ability to remember every child's bar mitzvah parsha for many years after that child became a bar mitzvah.
If your children davened in this minyan in their youth and have since moved to a different community, please forward this email to them so that they may participate in this special tribute.

Following davening we will have a Kiddush for all of the teens. To participate as a sponsor of this special kiddush in memory of Rabbi Kaminetsky z"l, please fill out the form below.
